To qualify for .NGO, the organization must be identified as a non-governmental organization or NGO. .NGO will be a closed domain exclusively for the use of NGOs. NGO's are organizations that pursue activities & provide services, by means of creating awareness, social mobilisation, training, research and advocacy, in support of public good, including but not limited to the promotion of human rights, protecting the environment, providing basic social services, and a host of cultural and economic developments.
PIR will work with the NGO community to establish the most appropriate mechanisms to certify NGO registrants. PIR will apply these mechanisms and regulate the registration of the .NGO TLD in close and continuing cooperation with the NGO community. .NGO will truly be a domain extension built for the community, by the community.
